—Wade, "Clash of the Lions"
Herbert Wade (Full name revealed in I, Voltron) is the former Sky Marshall of Galaxy Garrison who was responsible for decommissioning Voltron after the defeat of King Lotor. He went evil because he was unable to pilot Voltron.
Voltron Force (TV series)
Sky Marshall Wade is the head of the Galaxy Alliance Military Division and has great hatred for Voltron. Wade has wanted control of the Galaxy Alliance Military for years and always claimed that Voltron is dangerous because of the powers within the Lions is ancient and not fully understood. So far no one can prove how he sabotages the Lions during the celebration, making the public turn against Voltron. Wade was able to use this and convince the Galaxy Alliance to regulate the Lions back to their storage chambers on Arus. But according to Pidge, what he really wanted was to study the Lions' technology.
At his trial the Galaxy Alliance Council President Coran had the duty to list the charges against him. The charges are Insurrection; for aiding and abiding the enemies of the Galaxy Alliance, Treason; for hijacking Voltron and the destruction of Earth and adding to these Crimes; kidnapping, illegal imprisonment and sedition engineering of the Voltron malfunction; to take power of the Galaxy Alliance defense forces.
Wade is a well decorated general and a disciplined army man. Unfortunately all he seems to care about is money and power. He is ruthless and destroys anyone or/and anything that gets in his way. He is also a military genius and does things, which seem to be random but in reality furthering his goals. But he was not this way in the beginning, from the times Coran known him. In their youth both took any class that the Galaxy Alliance Flight Academy offered, there real dream was to attract the attention of the Voltron Force. They pushed themselves to excel, daring the Force not to notice them, when the Force did they were invited to join. But to Wade's surprise Voltron's Black Lion, rejected him. This made Wade furious and he developed an obsession with the robot Black Lion . That is the reason why he reverse engineered only the Black Lion instead of the other Lions. Because of his obsession, greed, and other flaws, Black Lion was right about him not being worthy of becoming a Voltron pilot. Wade is also jealous of the current Voltron team because they are the pilots instead of him.
