Shouldn't she be Queen? This always seems to be the problem with these stories, if her father is dead that means she should be Queen. I hope she gets her corrination at some point... TheBlackDemon1996 (talk) 23:57, January 18, 2017 (UTC)
If I recall correctly, one of the eps in Golion remarked that Fala would be coronated Queen when she married/took a Prince Consort. It's also implied that she's only 16-17 in the series, and most (Earth) monarchies only consider you of age when you reach 18, so there's that. Byrnstar (talk) 23:32, January 18, 2017 (UTC)
Allura of VLD has only been referred to as "Princess" by herself as well as other characters. She has no planet to rule over nor any people left alive to rule. (That we know of.) She can't be the Queen of anything at the moment. Coran respects her former status, so do the Paladins. Zarkon even calls her such, though I doubt that's anything but habit and history for him. So, don't you think the word "racism" is a little much for a KIDS SHOW?? Just because she has a distrust of the Galra, doesn't make her racist. She has a right to be fearful of the Galra because they took out her entire species. The fear/anger against Keith was justified because she's started to trust him as a team member, and then she figures out that he's part Galra?? She has a right to be a little fearful.
DOESN'T MAKE HER RACIST! - lancemcclains
Adjusted. This is a wiki. If there's something you don't think is accurate or worded right, most pages are open to be edited by logged-in users. Edits that usually get undone are inaccurate ones, unverified claims, redundancy, and blatant vandalism. Edit: Apparently Allura's page has been under semi-protection so "new and unregistered" users could not edit it, so I understand why you came here instead. Apologies on that. It's been open until higher vandalism rates hit her page again. Ruriair (talk) 23:40, March 14, 2017 (UTC)
Allura is a teenager
There are two interviews from wondercon this year where they call her a teenager.
And on this podcast they were on.
In this next video from last year people are saying that Bex says that Allura is 20, but she actually says that she looks 20 not that she actually is 20.
Yes but here's the thing:
Coran is shown to be around during the time the Black Lion was being built; the Castle of Lions, which is presumably built to transport all five Lions (Why have a five-hangar Castleship called the "Castle of Lions" before one Lion is even built?), is 10,600 years old by the time the new Paladins arrive. That would put Coran's age at 600 years at the very least. Allura is a character meant to be "just as young as everyone else", i.e. a teenager, but her actual age itself is unknown. She can be thought of to be the Altean equivalent of a human teenager, which entails an undetermined mental development length. That's my take and why "Unknown" should remain the infobox descriptor with a jumplink to the trivia about her being described as a teenager until canon narrative says she's only lived the number of years a human teenager has. "Unknown" doesn't make her any less of a teenager, it's just we don't know how long she's really lived. Ruriair (talk) 03:34, April 9, 2017 (UTC)
In the Rise Of Voltron book they gave out at San Diego Comic Con, it states 'revealing a tall teenage girl with silver hair'. I believe that, like Sam57573, it doesnt matter whether they mean human teenager or altean teenager- they say that she is a teenager, so she is.
The book is adapted/written and illustrated by people who have no connection with executive staff. Is that from the perspective of the humans? Is it just describing her appearance because she is clearly designed to appear around the same age as the "late teens" crew? Did the writer even know about canon Altean age ranges at all? Allura is obviously mentally somewhere around the same age as the rest but it still doesn't give her an *age number*. "Unknown" is an accurate descriptor of the situation. I can put a sourced blurb in the "notes" of her page that say "she has been described as a teenager", similar to how the rest "out of canon" age suggestions have been noted. But since episode dialogue ("The Castle is 10,600 years old" + "I visited Balmera while my grandfather built the Castle") establishes a very long lifespan for Alteans, that is absolute canon and takes precedence over third-party kids merchandise or words spoken out of canon that contradict canon narrative. "Unknown" gives space for how the narrative gives long Altean lifespans. "Teenager" puts her in the range of 13-19 and contradicts the notion that Altean lifespans don't match Human lifespans. The former still seems more accurate and true to canon, imo. Ruriair (talk) 21:31, July 21, 2017 (UTC)
The thought is that if Coran is 600+ and mentally of "human middle-age", what constitutes as the range of numbers for Alteans to be mentally "human teenager"? Also: the comments about her being a teenager were "acting just like any teenager would", not "she is a teenager and acting like one" (You can say "that adult is acting just like any child/teenager would" easily.), as well as "just as young as everyone else" - "everyone else", not "the teen Paladins"; remember there is also belief Shiro is not a teenager and Coran most certainly isn't. This is why, again, it's listed as "Unknown" in the infobox, but the "Unknown" links to part of the page that notes she has been described as "teenager" and "young as everyone else" with context to how and where those phrases were said. It's to avoid people taking "19 and younger" as her age when actual canon is implying a possibility otherwise. Narrative canon > Off-handed comments on the spot + third party merch for kids. Also we don't. Know her age number. So "Unknown" covers the full scope of the situation, allowing people to think of her age as they will. Ruriair (talk) 05:26, July 22, 2017 (UTC)
