This article is about the Lion Force pilot as he appears in Voltron Force-related interpretations. For a list of other meanings, see Lance (disambiguation).

Lance is a human from the Voltron Force franchise.

Lance is a sarcastic ace pilot and flight instructor, and is the Lion Force member who traditionally flies the Red Lion. Lance's Voltcom weapons are heat fists and dual pistols.

History[]

Lance is the youngest head flight instructor in Galaxy Garrison Flight Academy history. He is the first Voltron Pilot Daniel and Vince meet, when he promptly rats out Daniel's incessant questioning on Voltron (and Vince for guilt by association) to Sky Marshall Wade to give them the automatic punishment of latrine duty. Later, it is revealed that he intentionally did this so that the two would have a better chance of stealing the lion keys from Sky Marshall Wade.[1] After the two get into another bit of trouble, this time going into the simulators unauthorised due to the door being unlocked, Lance joins them and proceeds to open a wall panel sending the three flying into the Den.

From there, they meet with Pidge and Hunk (who promptly leaves) and the two remaining Voltron pilots explain what's been going on, in terms of Voltron, Wade, and Daniel and Vince's role in it all. During which, he shuts down Daniel's attempts to discover more about what Keith has been doing for the past 6 years. Eventually he tasks Daniel and Vince to use their extended free range of the Garrison (being on toilet duty) to sneak into Wade's own bathroom to steal his 4 striped pin and replace it with a fake made by Pidge. After completing this, Lance pilots a ship to Arus.

When the three arrive on Arus and meet with Allura and Larmina in Defenders of Arus, Lance oversees the initial Voltcom test, proclaiming the Voltcom's useful features to the cadets. He also oversees the lion simulator, correctly stating that Vince would likely be more familiar with it than the previous hand to hand combat trial. Later, when a Robeast arrives on Arus, he warns Allura that reactivating the Lions would provoke severe repercussions from Wade and the Galaxy Alliance. When they inevitably do reactivate them to face the Robeast, Lance jokes that he'd hoped their reunion would be more romantic. Later, his arm is broken, meaning for a period of time Daniel has to pilot Red while he supervises him. He is shown to have fully recovered by Coran Coran.

When Keith first returns, Lance makes a fond remark on how he still 'is rocking the mullet.' However, this connection between the two is short lived as in their interactions afterwards he and Lance frequently butt heads due to Lance being annoyed by Keith immediately returning to leadership like nothing happened and criticising him for not being a very good team player. This malcontent between them is thankfully short lived, and the two fit into their respective roles in the team in the episodes thereafter.

In Coran Coran, Lance is shown to be mostly bored of Pidge's lectures unless they entail something related to explosions or smashing and breaking things. He is eager to test out his lion's new tail upgrade as soon as it is announced. Later in the episode he argues with Keith over who gets to be the heroic sacrifice and stay behind so the other can escape with Coran. This is until the other three Pilots come to their aid in their lions.

Lance now wears a metallic red uniform. Lance still cracks bad jokes and teases the cadets whenever he gets the chance.
